Branding
Project Overview
Role: UI Designer
Scope: Aligning website with visual branding guide
Timeline: 3 weeks
Tools: Figma, FigJam
Project Overview
This project was a website facelift for a client whose digital presence had become outdated and inconsistent. My role focused on applying the company’s existing brand style guide to the website while improving usability, accessibility and overall visual polish.
The Problem
Inconsistent typography and poor hierarchy
Blurry and mismatched imagery (even mockups used in hero banner)
Redundant and repetitive content
Odd layout usage that broke user expectations
Accessibility concerns (low contrast, poor readability, inconsistent sizing)
Design Goals
Apply the Style Guide
Strictly applied the brand’s typography, color and layout guidelines
Created UI components (buttons, cards, section layouts) for consistency and scalability
Content Improvements
Replaced redundant, copy-pasted text with clearer, more informative content
Used AI to generate polished copy when company resources were limited
Accessibility Fixes
Addressed typography inconsistencies and contrast issues
Improved hierarchy to make content more scannable
Challenges
Limited client resources (no content writer, low-quality images)
Scope was UI-focused, but underlying UX/content issues couldn’t be ignored
Needed to take initiative to rewrite content and source imagery
Final Designs
Outcomes
Design Outcomes
Cohesive, modernized design aligned with brand style guide
Improved hierarchy, typography and image quality
Reusable components to support scalability
UX/Accessibility Outcomes
Reduced redundancy in content, improved readability
Addressed accessibility gaps (contrast, sizing, hierarchy)
Professional Outcomes
Showed initiative beyond scope (content writing, image sourcing)
Delivered a design foundation the client can now implement and expand
Reflection
This project reinforced the importance of consistency and hierarchy in building trust. It also reminded me how often design work intersects with content strategy, and tha stepping in to solve problems outside of scope can significantly improve the end result.
